Yuri University v0.57 is in early access, now on itchio for the first time!

Yuri University v0.57 is now available to early release supporters over on my patreon, and now for the first time here on itchio!

Purchases of $10 or more will give you access to Mega upload links for the new PC, Mac and Android versions. This update will be publicly available to everyone, for free, in one week’s time.

This update adds Ezri’s relationship level 5 scene, the third film night with BFF and Ezri, and more! The full changelog will be posted for everyone when the update goes public next week, but purchases of $1 or more can see it right now as a downloadable PDF.

If you wish to get early access through the patreon instead, it’s at https://www.patreon.com/chekkingames

FAQ

Q: Will you be charging for Yuri University from now on?

A: No! YU will always remain free. I’ve offered updates a week early to patrons since launch, I’m now just trying this model on itchio. All updates will still be free on itchio after the early release window has ended (usually 1 week).

Q: What will I get if I pay $10?

A: You will get access to Mega upload links for the new version 0.57 for PC, Mac and Android. Note that the early release is only available through Mega upload.

Q: If I pay $10, will I always have access to future early releases?

A: No, that is not the intention. This will be a ‘pay-per-update’ model, similar to how the patreon works. Future early releases will likely be presented on their own game page to accommodate this.

Q: If I paid $10 or more in the past, will I have access to this early release?

A: Truth be told, I’m not entirely certain, but I think so, yes. Consider it a little extra thank you for your support.

If this is not the case (I’m not totally certain how itchio works in this regard), then my apologies, but thank you for your support!

Whether or not it applies to this update, future early releases will only be available to those who purchase within that release window.

Q: Why is it $10 on itchio, but £10 on your patreon?

A: The patreon gets lots of additional benefits: a months access to the feed of previews and news, that month’s SFW thank you images, access to the backlog of previous seasonal pics, ability to vote on polls, etc. I decided to make the itchio price slightly cheaper to reflect this, but still a similar price since the early release is the main draw.

Thank you all <3

Just figured I would confirm for you on this question:

Q: If I paid $10 or more in the past, will I have access to this early release?

I did donate $10 here on Itch.io back in February, and am able to access the new 0.57 early release downloads as intended. Thanks again for that!

On a related tangent...

Sadly I can't think of a better way for early access downloads either. It's pretty inconvenient having to create a new itch.io page every month and direct people to make a new purchase on it.

Then you have to delete that page (or at least set it to Draft status so it isn't publicly facing) and replace it with a new one every month, so people don't accidentally get the wrong link and pay for the new public version.

I wish Itch.io offered a monthly support option (maybe on an account-wide basis rather than single game page?) that would grant access to specific supporters-only content. It would make these kinds of ideas a lot easier to implement. Who knows, perhaps someday they will.

Cool, thanks for letting me know! Glad it works like I thought, and thanks again for your support <3

Yeah making another game page for every update (which are more like every other month, but still) is far from ideal, but it seems it's either that or keep early releases exclusive to patreon. I'd like to at least give people the option of getting it here too.

It'd be great if itch.io had a better option for per-update support, but ah well! I'll try the new game page next time and see how it goes.

Cheers!
